In April 2005, WPY participants performed their adaptation of Romeo & Juliet at the request of a very special guest - First Lady Mrs. Laura Bush. See the pictures!

Later that year, alumni were asked to be the featured performers at the White House Conference on Helping America's Youth.

Will Power to Youth (WPY) serves young people in our community who do not traditionally have access to theater programs, job training, academic enrichment, or other arts opportunities.

20-30 Los Angeles youth are hired into and get paid to participate in this arts-based educational enrichment program. During each session - 30 hours a week for seven weeks - youth work closely with professional artists and human relations facilitators.

Love and gender roles collide in the 2006 production of Twelfth Night, with Maria and Kevin as Viola and Orsino.

Together, they create an unique adaptation of a Shakespeare play that is relevant to, and inspired by, their personal experiences.

WPY empowers youth and is designed to help its participants transition into adulthood. Youth not only thrive in this creative and supportive environment, but also learn first-hand the values of teamwork, a strong work ethic, and keeping a positive attitude.

Nationally recognized by the National Endowment of the Arts, The U.S. Department of Justice, and First Lady Laura Bush, WPY has been hailed for its effectiveness at addressing unemployment, youth violence, and high-school dropout rates.

Will Power to Youth gives youth the tools to transform their lives, play by play.
